Violinist Hyeri Choi and pianist Mark Neiwirth present a complete journey through Edvard Grieg’s three sonatas for violin and piano - masterworks that trace the composer’s artistic evolution. From the youthful freshness of the First Sonata to the folk-inspired vitality of the Second and the sweeping maturity of the Third, this program reveals Grieg’s deeply personal voice, shaped by lyricism, drama, and the spirit of Norwegian nationalism.

Dr. Choi is chair of the string department at Idaho State University and is the concertmaster of the Idaho State-Civic Symphony. Mark Neiwirth, professor of piano at Idaho State University, is a native son who grew up in the Twin Falls area and went on to establish an international concert career.
