CSI Stage Door Series - "Electro Acoustic"
CSI Faculty member Scott Farkas presents an evening of pieces for percussion and live interactive computer processing. In this concert the audience will have a chance to hear several composers’ idea of how a computer may contribute equally to live music as an autonomous performer. Works from contemporary American composers, Bill Sallak (Kent State University), Daniel Lentz (Arizona State University), and Cort Lippe (University of Buffalo) will feature non pitched percussion instruments as solo sounds in an exciting and uncommon context. A truly rich sound pallet will be painted, and the performer will invite the audiences thoughts, questions and comments on how the sounds heard are created, and what processes are happening on stage.
